Obituary
Lloyd R. Long , age 74 of Rockford, IL, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born October 16, 1943 in Oregon, IL; the son of the late Lloyd and Irene (Yawger) Long. He graduated from Leaf River High School. Lloyd married Janice Heitkam on February 13, 1965 in Davis, IL.
He had worked at Rockford Products, retiring after 41 years. Cars were his passion and he was a member of the 1965/66 Full Size Chevy Club. He loved puttering on his cars and going to car shows. Lloyd was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Long of Rockford; son, Kevin (Jill) Long of Suwanee, GA; grandson, Joshua Long of GA; and brothers, Larry Long of Linwood, NC, Gary (Diane) Long of Rockford and Darrell Long of Rockford. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jay long who passed in 2011.
A visitation will be held Sunday, December 17 th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. The funeral service will be Monday, December 18 th at 10:00 am also at Walker Mortuary. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established for Heartland Hospice and the Swedish American Cancer Center.Services
