Loeta "Rita" M. Shenberger, age 78 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born February 13, 1944; the daughter of the late Forest and Marion (Cooper) Holden. She married Willard "Rab" Shenberger on June 29, 1963 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Freeport; he passed on September 16, 2018.

Loeta Loved watching NASCAR and Soap Operas. She also enjoyed her puzzle books, she especially liked crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her sons, Willard Jr. (Candy) of Freeport, John (Susan) of El Cajon, CA, James (Amy) of Freeport, and Jeffrey (Ame) of Monroe, WI; grandchildren: twins Ricky & Robbie (Krystal) Shenberger; Joey Shenberger & Kayla Buss; Amanda Shenberger; Jimmy Shenberger Jr.; Alyssa Brown; and Aubrey Shenberger; great grandchildren; Savanna Shenberger; Della Sells, Elijah, Angela, R.J., & Grace Shenberger; and brothers, Earl Holden and Denny Holden both of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard "Rab" Shenberger; brothers, Bill Holden, Gary Holden, Bobby Holden and Lyle Holden; sisters, Fern Veer and Vivian Simler; and infant sister, Linda.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Freeport. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
