Lois Mae Aisenbrey, 86 of Dakota died early Monday August 17, 2009 at her home with family at her side. Born December 4, 1922 at Rock Grove Township, she was the daughter of Henry C. and Alice M. (Geiter) Horstmeier. Lois graduated from Orangeville High School in 1941 and later graduated Nursing School 1946. She and Arnold Aisenbrey were married in Rock Grove in 1947. She then worked as a private duty nurse and farmed with her husband in the Dakota area. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was active in the various church groups. Lois loved baking, sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Arnold of Dakota, daughter Mary (Gale) Fryer of Freeport; son Stephen (Debra) Aisenbrey of Roscoe; 3 Grandchildren Melissa (Dave) Anderson of Wauconda, Nicholas (Kelly) Fryer of Freeport, Bailee Aisenbrey of Roscoe; 2 great grandchildren Katie and Aubrey Fryer both of Freeport; sister Margaret Priewe of Rockford.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son James Aisenbrey in 1976 one brother Harold Horstmeier in 1956, 2 sisters Lucille Horstmeier in 1993 and Evelyn Riemer in 2004.
Visitation will be Thursday 5pm until 7pm at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota. Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 am
at Afolkey Bethel United Methodist Church in Afolkey. Burial will be in the Afolkey Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the church.
