Lois M. Boos 87, of Freeport, formerly of Dakota, passed away Thursday, Mar. 17, 2011 at the Oakley Courts-Assisted Living home, surrounded by family. She was born Nov. 20, 1923 in Pecatonica, IL the daughter of Arthur M. and Gertrude B. (Seaton) Daughenbaugh.
On August 30, 1941 she married Leroy R. Boos. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2001.
Lois was a homemaker, worked for the Dakotah School for Boys and the Dakota High School cafeteria. She attended North Ridott School. She was a family famous pie maker cherished by all. Her kitchen door was always open to her family's friends. She was extremely proud of her Daughenbaugh heritage and enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood.
Survivors include: One daughter, Karla (Larry) Toelke of Dakota; two sons, Gerald (Jerilyn) Boos of Dakota and Harlan (Gayle) Boos of Rock City.
Eight grandchildren, Kris (Steve) DeHaven, Rock City; Andrea (Josh) Tregoning, Evansville, WI.; Joe (Brooke) Boos, Christopher Boos both of Rockford; Eric Boos, Chicago; Russell Boos of Brooklyn, NY and Maren Boos of Schaumberg, and Sarah Chriss of Dakota; 10 Great Grandchildren, Cody, Ali and Emily DeHaven, Ila, Lilia and Kass Tregoning, Lucas and Gavin Boos, Savannah Sickler and Caden Chriss; One brother, Stanley (Thelma) Daughenbaugh of Dakota. One niece Pamela (Mark) Gibbs, Wauwatosa, WI; and two nephews Steve (Rebecca) Daughenbaugh of Phoenix, AZ and Craig (Marsha) Daughenbaugh of Dakota
