Lois Ruth Luedtke , beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 18th, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and grace. She was born on July 27, 1948, in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Clifford and Ruth Grandstrand. She grew up in Shafer, Minnesota and was a graduate of Taylor Falls high school and St. Olaf College.

Lois married the love of her life, Stuart, on August 28, 1971. They shared 54 wonderful years together, building a life grounded in faith, love, and family.

A devoted mother, Lois is survived by her husband Stuart; son Ben Luedtke (Karen) of Swansea, IL; daughter Rebekah Luedtke of Wausau, WI; and her cherished grandchildren, Grace and Caleb Luedtke, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughters Amy and Jessica, and her brother Mark, among other close relatives.

Lois dedicated almost 40 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse in the Freeport Memorial and Rockford Memorial health systems. It was a career she loved and took great pride in. Her compassion and steady presence brought comfort to countless patients and families over the decades.

Beyond her professional life, Lois found joy in volunteering at church and with Habitat for Humanity, traveling, quilting, painting, being at the family's lake home and sharing in fellowship with friends and family. Her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Lois will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 3rd from 4 to 6 PM at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lena, IL on Saturday, October 4th at 11 AM, with a visitation at 10 AM and a luncheon to follow.
