Lola Lucille Robinson, age 90 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Atrium Assisted Living in Rockford, IL. She was born September 15, 1929; the daughter of Everett and Ethel (Schisler) Thurman. She was a graduate of Abingdon High School in Abingdon, IL. Lucille married Larry Robinson on October 8, 1949; he passed on January 9, 2013.

Throughout the years, she worked as a telephone operator, nanny, receptionist at Georgetown Law School, and retired as a secretary in a VA hospital. She was also a wonderful mother who loved caring for her family. Lucille also enjoyed sewing, making quilts, cooking and gardening. Family was most important to her, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and taking care of her husband over the years.

She is survived by daughters, Janet Wasson of Freeport, Joan (Salvatore) Leotta of Tom's River, NJ, and Brigitte (Raymond) Kloepping of Pearl City, IL; brother-in-law, Ralph (Tina-deceased) Ebany; special niece, Shirley (Gary) Alexander of TX; grandchildren, Lerryn, Christine, Laura, Erin, Danielle, Darren, Alanna and Andria; many beloved great grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Lee (Frances) Thurman and LaVerne Thurman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; daughter, Tina Ebany; infant children, Ricky Lee and Beatrice Ann; granddaughter, Alicia; and brothers, Paul Thurman and Lawrence Thurman.

A service will be held on Saturday, February 29 ^th at 11:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
