Lorraine M. Sieber, 84, of Freeport, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 07, 1925 in Freeport she was the daughter of George and Grace (McLain) Martin. She married Sam Sieber in 1945. After high school, Lorraine worked as a proof reader for the Journal Standard, and then spent thirty-four years raising her family on the farm. After leaving the farm, she was employed as a proof reader at Black Dot Printing for fourteen years. In her later years, she worked as a home care giver and volunteered at Immanuel Lutheran School for eighteen years, until the age of 81.
She was a member of Freeport Mennonite Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Barb (Dave) Gross and Bonnie (Bill ) Brouhard both of Freeport; four sons, Sam Sieber Jr. of Freeport, Rich (Annie) Sieber of Hesston, Kansas, Phil (Anne) Sieber of Forreston, and Ed (Denise) Sieber of Machesney Park; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and was awaiting the arrival of two more.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1995; one son Dan Sieber; two daughters, Christine and Hope Sieber; two sisters, Joyce Greiner and Barbara Pritchett; and one brother, Bob Martin.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Freeport Mennonite Church with Reverend David Schrader officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
