Freeport-Louise Pauline Schweder, 86, of Freeport, died Monday, December 19, 2005, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born November 2, 1919 in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Frank and Helen (Bauscher) Smith. She married Norman Schweder June 17, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa and he preceded her in death.
She worked at Burgess Battery, Western Newell, and Freeport Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1986.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and their Young @ Heart group.
Louise loved to travel, enjoyed nature, working crossword puzzles, baking cookies, and making fudge.
Surviving is her daughter, Carol Jean Schweder of Chicago; one sister, Dorothy Smith of Freeport; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Vernon A. Schweder; her brother, Paul Smith; and her sister, Frances Barrara.
Funeral service will be Thursday 1:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
