Ridott: Lucille Lorraine Schweitzer, 83 of Ridott passed away after a short illness Saturday January 17, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport. Born December 26, 1925 in rural Pleasant Valley she was the daughter of Walter and Nellie (Althoff) Robinson. On May 16, 1948 she married Alfred W. Schweitzer in Freeport. Lucille stayed at home while raising her children and also worked for Kraft Cheese and for W. T. Rawleigh Co. She was a member of Ridott Community Church where she volunteered as the Church Treasurer for 47 years. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Election Board Judge, and she was a plane spotter for the Civil Air Patrol. Her hobbies included Quilting, Crocheting, and working crossword puzzles. Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Alfred W. Schweitzer; 4 sons, William Schweitzer of Freeport, Dale (Sue) Schweitzer of Loves Park, Karl (Ting Ting) Schweitzer of Turlock, Cal. and Kevin (Evelyn) Schweitzer of San Diego, Cal.; 1 daughter, Connie (David) Miller of Freeport; 7 grandchildren, Sarah (Brett) Janecke, Greg Schweitzer, Christina Onari, Ashley Schweitzer, Jennica Schweitzer, Brandon, Schweitzer, and Megan Schweitzer; 3 great grandchildren, Blaze and Wyatt Janecke and Lucas Schweitzer; 1 sister, Edna Mae Beattie of Lanark; 1 brother, Harvey Robinson of Wisconsin; 1 step sister, Ellen (Jim) Gordon of Freeport; I step brother, Rainer Brodnicki of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, 1 infant daughter, Bonnie Jean, and 1 sister, Thelma Robinson. "She was greatly loved by her family and will be dearly missed". Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary, Freeport. With the Reverend Mark Vlad of Ridott Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ridott Cemetery, Ridott, IL. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name for the Salvation Army.
