Lucille M. Wolfensberger, 97, of Freeport, died June 25, 2012 at Parkview Home.
Born August 16, 1914 in Shannon she was the daughter of Robert and Eva (Condit) Porter. She married Willard Horner September 2, 1936 in Shannon and he died august 7, 1937. She married Homer Wolfensberger August 2, 1941 in Polo and he died January 20, 2000.
She graduated from Shannon High School in 1932. Lucille graduated from Sterling Public Hospital in 1935 and did post graduate course in OB at Chicago Lying Hospital in 1939.
For many years she worked as a registered nurse in area hospitals.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church since 1950. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the quilt tying group for 20 years.
Lucille enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilt making, bowling, fishing, camping, and traveling.
Surviving is 1 son, Don (Monty) Wolfensberger of Arlington, Virginia; 2 daughters, Jane (Don) Rasmussen of Livermore, California and Kay (Arnold) Giedd of Freeport; grandchildren, Robin Rasmussen, Suanne (Randy) Lovvorn, Janet (Doug) Hallman; great grandchildren, Brooke (Travis) Higgins, Agusta Hohn, Donnie Lamb, Skiler Lamb, William Rasmussen, Bret Rasmussen Jr., and Brandyn Rasmussen; Kayleigh and Jake Lovvorn; Andy and Jimmy Hallman; great great grandchildren, Tanner Higgins, Travis Higgins Jr., and Tulson Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 1 brother, Dale Porter; and her grandson, Bret Rasmussen.
