Lyle A. "Larry" Miller of McConnell, died Friday, August 1, 2008, at the home of his daughter, Laurie Oberle.
Born in Chadwick he was the son of Alfred and Mildred (Pontnack) Miller.
He worked at Swiss Colony seasonally for the last twenty years.
Lyle loved to visit and talk with people, both in person and on the telephone. He loved real estate - always said he was playing Monopoly with real money. He adored his children and grandchildren. Lyle knew when everyone was born, and their telephone numbers.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Janet (Hank) Euler of McConnell, Laurie (Ron) Oberle and Lisa (Justin) Wright both of Lena, and Kristi (Kevin) Neubauer of Cedarville; 5 brothers, Donald of Milledgeville,
Jack (Darlene) of Freeport, Neil (Sandy) of Mineola, TX, Sheldon (Bonnie) of Pecatonica, Greg of Milwaukee, WI 2 sisters, Doris Ann Bilodeau and Marilyn (Jack) Doty both of Rockford, his grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon, and Shane Euler, Erica (Jason) Kornfeind, Kaitlin, Dyllan and Cole Oberle, Cody Larsen and Lexi Wright, Colton, Carly and Camrin Neubauer, his children's mother, Karen Miller of McConnell; various nieces, nephews, and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his only son, Lyle P. Miller, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident on June 30, 2007.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m Tuesday at the First Church of the Open Bible in Freeport with Reverend Burlis Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at First Church of the Open Bible in Freeport.
