M. Margaret Bertram, 94, of Cedarville died March 14, 2015 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. She was born January 5, 1921 in Rushville, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel and Lola (Jones) Newell. She was a 1939 graduate of Rushville, Illinois High School. She came to Freeport in 1940 and was employed by Burgess Battery Company and Micro Switch until her marriage. She married Paul Bertram on October 16, 1944 at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church in Freeport. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and great-great grandma. She truly enjoyed family get-togethers and holidays. She was a devoted partner in every way to her husband, Paul, and greatly enjoyed working with him on all projects, such as building their two homes and running their Christmas tree business. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, one granddaughter Natalie Ricci, one grandson Lyle Miller, one great grandson, Cody Larsen, and three brothers-in-law Bob Murfin, Leo Skoubo, and LaVerne Bloom. She is survived by her husband, Paul of Cedarville, and four children. Karen Miller, McConnell, Illinois, Galen (Carole) Bertram, Freeport, Illinois, Norm (Kim) Bertram, Winnebago, Illinois, and Dona Ricci, Verona, Wisconsin. Twelve grandchildren: Janet Euler, Laurie (Ron) Oberle, Lisa (Justin) Wright, Kristi (Kevin) Neubauer, Amanda Bertram, Alex (Nikki) Bertram, Clint (Leslie) Bertram, Eric (Stephanie) Bertram, Jared Bertram, Holly Bertram, Adam (Shannon) Ricci, Daniel (Kate) Ricci, and step-grandson Rhett (Robin) Livengood. Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her three sisters. Marie Murfin, age 97, Velma Skoubo, age 95, and Ruby Bloom, age 91. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Walker Mortuary. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Walker Mortuary.
