Mabel Drake, 87, of Freeport, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Born March 11, 1921 in Forreston she was the daughter of Henry and Nancy (Buskhol) Krum. She married Gerald Drake October 11, 1941 in Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1980.
Mabel worked at Spurgeons and Grants Department Stores.
She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving is her niece, Karen Krum of Shannon; 3 nephews, Ronald (Charlene) Krum of Mt. Carroll, Larry (Shirley) Krum of Nevada, and Michael (Merna) Lang of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
Funeral service will be Friday, 1:30 p.m., at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for Freeport Fraternal Order of Eagles.
