Mae K. Martin, 90, of Freeport, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at her home in Freeport.
Born June 15, 1921 in Freedom Township, Illinois she was the daughter of John and Dora (Cheeseman) Orth. She married Robert B. "PeeWee" Martin in Freeport on December 20, 1944 and he preceded her in death.
She worked at Burgess Battery until 1944 and then on the farm with her husband in rural Freeport.
Surviving are her nieces; nephews; and her care taker, Emily Nickel of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 sister, Helen Eacker; and 1 brother, Alfred Orth.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service Tuesday at the Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for the Freeport Rural Fire Department.
