Rockford-Mae Riggle, 79, of Rockford, formerly of Freeport, died Sunday August 17, 2003, peacefully, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford surrounded by her family after a short illness.
Born March 4, 1924 in Freeport she was the daughter of Oliver and Florence (Kohl) Fluegel.
She was retired from Valspar in Rockford.
She was a member of Business & Professional Women.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra (Victor) Adamsky of Beloit, Wisconsin; three sons, Jim K. (Carol) Riggle of Winnebago, Steve G. (Dolores) Riggle of Caledonia, and Bill M. Riggle of Cherry Valley; two sisters, June Hart of Freeport and Betty (Dale) Riggle of Rockford; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dallas, Harold, and Robert Fluegel.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Don Jamerson of First Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum in Freeport.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Rockford Rescue Mission.
