Magdalene Ostapik, 91, of Freeport, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
She was born February 4, 1922 in Delatyn, Poland. She married Michael Ostapik in October 1942 and he died April 18, 1980.
They emigrated to the United States in 1949.
Magdalene was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Helen Ostapik of Rockford; her son, Fred (Judith) Ostapik of San Francisco, CA; her granddaughter, Edith (Eric) Ostapik Scheie of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and her sister, Helen Salamon of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
There will be a gathering for friends and relatives on May 11, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the Church.
Interment of her cremated remains will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Freeport.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Friends Forever Humane Society.
