Marguerite "Tootie" Meinert, 90, of Dakota, IL, passed away on December 25, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born July 13, 1930 she was the daughter of Wilbert and Isabelle (Murray) Keehnen. She was a graduate of Dakota High School. On April 30, 1949 she and Frank Meinert were united in marriage.

She and Frank farmed in Dakota and she worked at the Dakota Post Office. Tootie attended Afolkey Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren, and baking cookies for them.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (LeRoy) Lincoln of Dakota and Pamela (Dennis) Jansen of Davis; son, Mick (Pam) Meinert of Cable, WI; 8 grandchildren, Lonnie (Stephanie) Lincoln, Lori Stewart, Lana (Dan) Moyer, Christopher (Michelle) Meinert, Stacy (Frank) Fetzer, Phillip (Rachel) Jansen, Rebecca (Mike) Wise, Brian (Sarah) Jansen; 13 great grandchildren, Alyssa Stewart, Frankie Fetzer, Emily Fetzer, Hailey Jansen, Braedyn Jansen, Brayden Larson, Colton Jansen, Lucas Lincoln, Dallas Moyer, Maddox Moyer, Elliana Wise, Ainsley Wise, Elin Wise; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Frank in 2010; sisters, Morag Fryer, Charity Balles, Ena Kutzke; brothers, Wilbert (Bow) Keehnen, Ernie Keehnen and Jim Keehnen.

The family will be having a private service with burial in the Dakota Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Lion's Club in Durand. The Daughenbaugh Funeral Home of Dakota is assisting her family. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
