Maria Wilhelms , age 89 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Nursing Home with her children by her side. She was born in Munich, Germany on May 15, 1930; the daughter of Agnes and Wolfgang Hargasser. She was married in Munich to Paul Wilhelms.

Maria Loved going to garage sales and taking trips to Goodwill. She is survived by 8 children, Ingrid (Donald) Heilman, Shirley (Brian) Elam, Debbie (Doug) Wessel, Gary (Marsha) Wilhelms, Sandy (Rodney) Enright, Laurie Bloom, Tammy Roach (Bill Morell), and Jeff (Angie) Wilhelms; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant son.

A private family service will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 5 ^th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
