Marian E. Fordyce- Marian Elizabeth Fordyce, 81, formerly of Rockford, IL passed away December 5, 2006 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va. Born August 6, 1925 in Inglewood, CA. she was the daughter of Frank and Clara Workinger. She and James A Fordyce Sr. were married on March 19, 1943 in Freeport, IL
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norfolk, VA. She graduated from Winslow High School, Winslow, IL. She will be remembered for her flowers, gardening and Yorkshire Terriers. She was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley A Zamzow, of Houston, TX; One son James A Fordyce Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers Leland Workinger of Machesney Park, IL and Donald Workinger of Rockford, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister Dorothy Schultz.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Peace at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL with the Rev. Neville Kretzmann officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service at the Chapel of Peace.
