Freeport- Marian F. Laible, 83, of Freeport, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born November 4, 1923 in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Chas and Gertrude (Portner) Kratzer. She married Don F. Laible November 21, 1943 and he died January 27, 2006.
Marian and her husband owned the Galloping Horse Antique business for 40 years. They enjoyed traveling the Southern District doing shows in Key West and Miami, Florida. Their love of adventure took them on many trips abroad and went around the world.
She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
An accomplished cook she enjoyed everything from simple foods to the gourmet. She was also an avid flower gardener.
Surviving are two nephews, William E. (Joyce) Small of Dakota and David (Lori) Laible of California; 3 nieces, Jane (Jan) Hall of Naperville, Dr. Mary Ann (Bob) Stenger of Louisville, Kentucky, and Joann (Richard) Millington of California; sister in-law, Barbara Laible of California; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister.
Funeral service and Burial will be Tuesday 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
