Freeport-Marie C. Kirchberg, 89, of Freeport, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born February 24, 1917 in Freeport she was the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Wienand) DeFrane She married Cletus A. Kirchberg March 22, 1941 and he died April 4, 1991.
She worked at Micro Switch for 32 years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church
Surviving is one daughter, Rita L. (Joe) Krupke of Freeport; two grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Oborne of Durand and Brett (Mimi) Monigold of Shannon; 4 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren 4 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral and burial will be Saturday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Cahill of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established for the Shannon Fire Department.
