Marion E. Derwent, age 92 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, November 1, 2018. She was born September 28, 1926; the daughter of Clarence and Birdie Mae (Sinkhorn) Grau. She graduated from Freeport High School. Marion married Robert J. Derwent on June 28, 1975.

She had worked at Furst McNess for 42 years, retiring in 1991. She was a former member of Second Presbyterian Church of Freeport and current member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Freeport. Marion was an avid bowler and enjoyed cooking, baking and working puzzles. She loved visits from family and friends. She was a loving, caring person who would do anything for anyone.

She is survived by 2 step-sons, David Derwent of Freeport and Edward Derwent of Chicago, IL; step-daughter, Martha Rose Derwent of Dixon, IL; sister-in-law, Kate Gray of Forreston; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Dave & Barb Monigold and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 4 brothers; and an infant sister.
