Marion Eugene Leverington, 91, of Cedarville, died Friday, August 30, 2013 Illinois Veterans' Home in La Salle, Illinois.
Born September 10, 1921 in Browntown, Wisconsin he was the son of Cecil and Iva (Dale) Leverington.
He married Ardith Shippy February 17, 1940 and she died May 15, 1965.
He married Alice Kirk April 30, 1966 and she died October 31, 2002.
Marion was a proud member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
Marion worked for Micro Switch Company in Freeport for 32 years.
Surviving are his sons, Arthur (Janice) Leverington of Cedarville and James (Mary) Leverington of Freeport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his stepchildren, Karen Paul and Rick Kirk both of Freeport; Diane (Jon) Kauffman of Stockton, Tim (Linda) Kirk) of Mt. Carroll, and Chris (James) Eastwood of Modesto, California; and his longtime companion, Carol Ryan of Freeport.
He was preceded by his parents; his stepmother, Marie Steer; both wives; one son, Edward; one brother, John; one grandson, Alan; one granddaughter, Kristina.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2013 in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at the Chapel of Peace.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
