Freeport-Marion G. Liles, 79, of Freeport, died Friday, January 2, 2004, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born July 27, 1924 in Guiderock, Nebraska he was the son of Albert and Katherine (Hahn) Liles. He married Gladys Burrington February 7, 1948 and she died July 18, 1993. He married Anna McKillip on February 14, 2001.
A Harlem Township Farmer he also worked at Micro Switch for 25 years.
He was a member of the Freeport Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dancing.
Surviving is his wife, Anna of Freeport; one son, Alvin T. (Teri) Liles of Stockton; two step-sons, Frank (Sue) Luy and Rick (Penny) Luy both of Freeport; two step-daughters, Bonnie (Dale) Baal of Forreston and Theresa Luy of Freeport; one brother, Forest E. Liles of Saline, Kansas; one sister, June Briggs of Dover, Delaware; 2 grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gladys; his brother, Junior; 2 sisters, Janice and Bernice.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Memorial service will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Msgr. P. William McDonnell officiating.
A memorial has been established in his name.
