Mark Allen Wallace, 57 of Rockford, formerly of Freeport, passed January 25, 2023, peacefully in his sleep at home.  Born July 19, 1965 in Freeport, IL he graduated Freeport High School in 1983.  He worked for 21 years at Berner Cheese.

Mark was involved in helping with the sound system at church and teaching a children's Sunday school class and then volunteering at the Rockford Rescue Mission and Jubilee Center in Rockford, IL for many years.

Mark is survived by three sisters, Sara Kanzler of Freeport, Rachael (Chris) Choumont of Freeport and Joanna McGuire of Rockford, IL.  Two nephews, Joshua McGuire and Donovan Choumont.  Three nieces, Crystal McGuire, Josephine McGuire and Amanda Choumont and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Patsy Wallace.

A visitation will be held at Walker Mortuary, 321 W. Main St. Freeport on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4-7PM.  Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at First Free Methodist Church at 2157 W. Cardinal Dr. Freeport, IL beginning at 1pm with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name. An additional memorial service will be held on February 23rd at 5pm at the Rockford Rescue Mission.
