Martha A. Stoner, 99, of Freeport, died Monday, September 17, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph.
Born April 30, 1913 in Freeport she was the daughter of William and Nora (Frickson) Falkenburg. She married Nelson Stoner December 26, 1934 and he died March 9, 1976.
Martha worked at Structo Manufacturing from 1944 until her retirement in 1978. She then cleaned houses in Freeport.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Martha loved her family. She was her happiest when she could look out for her family and friends. She was always giving and never taking.
Surviving is her daughter, Nelda (Glen) Thruman of Freeport; grandchildren, Darryl (Amy) Mullens of Freeport, Kevin (Doreen) Becklin of Minnesota, Kathy (Peter) Becklin-liu of Hawaii, Ken Becklin of Texas, and Karin (Brent) Greene of Texas; her sister in-law, Leona Grebner of Lena, many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her daughter, Betty Becklin; her son, Kenneth Stoner; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and 1 grandson, Scott Mullens.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Keith Johnson of First Lutheran Church officiating.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in her name.
