Marvin T. (Ike) Lamp, 70, of Freeport, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was born February 17, 1945, in Davisville, WV. He was the son of Alexander and Beulah (Long) Lamp. Marvin married Donna Lamp in 1964. He was employed at Burgess Battery, Modern Plating, the Waste Water Treatment Plant of Freeport, Honeywell, and he drove school bus for district 145, and also had a lawn mowing service with his son, Todd until retirement in 1988. He was a man who loved his family, loved to joke around, riding his motorcycle, and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being and working outside. He enjoyed taking day trips all around Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Canfield) Lamp; daughter, Tammy Lyons of Marinette, WI; his granddaughter, Brittany Dean of Marinette, WI; and his grandson, Matthew Arndt of Marinette, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Todd, and his grandchildren, Johnathan, Courtney, and Veronica Lyons.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2016, at Zion Church of Freeport, 4292 W Stephenson St. Road, Freeport. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
