Mary E. Arola, 95, of Freeport, died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Pearl Pavilion in Freeport.
Born March 25, 1921 in Marengo, Illinois she was the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Colvin) Johnson. She married Carl Arola August 24, 1940 and he died May 27, 1997.
Mary retired from Micro Switch in Freeport after 28 years of service.
Surviving are her children, Sally (Jon) Gundry of Freeport, Cynthia Arola of Freeport, Richard (Mary) Arola of Winfield, Illinois, and K. Michael Arola of Freeport; her sister, Phyllis McLain of Freeport; and her brother, Frank (Nancy) Johnson of Roscoe, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Freeport Memorial Hospice and American Cancer Society.
