Mary Jo Staben Arredia, 64, of Willow Springs, formerly of Freeport, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.
Born August 7, 1950 she was the daughter of Carlton and Doris (Marsh) Staben.
Known as "Ma Pretzel" in her Years at Freeport High School from which she graduated in 1968, she was a popular and beloved friend to many in this area and Willow Springs, Il. where she has resided for the last thirty years.
She was Safety Director for Cushing Transportation of Chicago.
Surviving are her brothers, Jon Staben (Cathy) and Michael Staben. (Brenda); her sister, Ann Griffin (William), her nieces and nephews, Eric Staben (Laura), Jenny Staben, Kirsten Hendrickson, Todd Staben (fiancée Samantha Bartkowiak), Leah Hendrickson, great-nephew Daniel Staben, and her beloved dog, Swayze Bogart.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
The celebration of her life will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Walker Mortuary in Freeport.
