Freeport: Mary E. Brauer, 56, died Tuesday June 7, 2005 at her home. Born June 18, 1948 in Freeport she was the daughter of Harold F. and Dorothy (Gunning) Reynolds. On April 23, 1968 she married Paul E. Brauer in Freeport. Mary was involved in both girl and boy scouting for many years. She was a career military wife and loved taking care of her family and friends and spending time with her granddaughters. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving is her husband Paul of Freeport, one daughter Amy Brauer of Redlands, California, two sons, Christopher (Ruby) Brauer of Lewisville, TX and Steven Brauer of Rockford, two granddaughters, Rebecca Brauer of Rockford and Bethany Brauer of Lewisville, TX, one brother Richard Reynolds of Freeport and one sister Nancy (Arden) Clementz of Annawan, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary. A memorial has been established in her name.
