Forreston- Mary E. (Betsy) Gagliardi, 81, of Forreston died Sunday May 1, 2005 at her home. Born November 19, 1923 in Menominee, MI, she was the daughter of John Baptiste and Josephine (Everard) Brault. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1941. On July 17, 1943 she and Angelo Gagliardi were united in marriage in Freeport.
Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport and enjoyed singing during mass. She had the distinction of being the 1st registered woman tool and die maker in the country before retiring after 34 years at Micro Switch in 1985. She enjoyed watching golf, working crossword puzzles, reading, watching her grandchildren, spoiling animals, especially birds, squirrels and one special dog, Oreo. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sister Marie and brother in law Joe and visiting with her many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of Forreston; 2 daughters Sandy (Jerry) Stukenberg of Forreston, Missy (Mike Clark) of Shannon; 2 sons Mike (Carol) Gagliardi of Forreston, John (Sandra) Gagliardi of Freeport; 4 granddaughters Dr. Lisa Stukenberg of Shorewood, WI, Jessica (Jim) Currier of Freeport, Sarah Gagliardi of Freeport, Angela Anderson of Shannon; 4 grandsons Steve Stukenberg of Belvidere, Joe (Jennifer) Stukenberg of Minneapolis, MN, Derrik Gagliardi of Minneapolis, MN. Brian Gagliardi of Freeport; one great grandson Noah Currier and one sister Marie Salfai of Menominee, MI.
Preceding her in death are her parents and 10 siblings.
Funeral mass of the resurrection will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport with the Reverend John Cahill officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7pm Wednesday at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
