Obituary
Mary E. Thruman 87, of Freeport, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born November 16, 1925 in Freeport she was the daughter of Paul and Ethel (Bookman) Kempert. She married Robert Thruman, Jr. August 11, 1945 in Freeport. He died November 16, 2008.
Mary worked for Economy Insurance Company in Freeport. She was a member of Laurel Street Community Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Michael) Stodden and Chris (Steve) Bamberg both of Freeport; two sons, Mike (fiancé Dawn) Thruman of Mazomanie, Wisconsin and Alan Thruman of Freeport; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, June Wonder; and one brother, Paul Kempert.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Dennis Jarrard of Laurel St Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Walker Mortuary
