Maurice Charles Richardson, 80, of Freeport formerly of Lake Summerset died Sunday May 19, 2013 at his home. Born December 20, 1932 he was the son of Verlin D. and Eula (Barnhart) Richardson. He was a 1951 graduate of Janesville High School. On September 29, 1956 he and Sharon P. Neinfeldt were united in marriage. Maurie worked in information technology for General Motors in Janesville, Russell, Burdsall and Ward Rock Falls, National Lock MFG and Elco Industries in Rockford, and owned All Seasons Spa and Floral in Durand. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and active member of Faith Community Church of Davis. He was a man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was well known for his great sense of humor and quick wit. Some of his favorite activities included golfing, boating and dancing with his wife. He was a lifelong avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Wisconsin Badgers. Surviving are his wife Sharon, daughters Kelli (Mark) Metzler, Vicki (Brad) Busker, Tami (Rodney) Peterson; grandchildren Ashley, Courtney, and Joshua Busker, Joseph and Shawn Peterson and one great-granddaughter Annabelle. Preceding him in death were his parents, stepmother Roberta Richardson and brother Marsden. Visitation will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Faith Community Church of Davis, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. The family would like to thank Hospice of America for all their help and care. A memorial has been established in his name.
