Obituary
Maxine M. Christen, 98, of Freeport, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Freeport Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Born March 20, 1914 in Freeport she was the daughter of Roland and Flossie (Bardell) Pyke. She married Harold Christen in 1934 and he died in 1987.
Maxine worked for the State of Illinois Soil Testing Lab and also volunteered for many years at St. Francis Hospital.
Surviving is her daughter, Pat (Mike) Maves of Freeport; her son, Jack (Kathy) Christen of Wesley Hill, Florida; nine grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband; two aunts; and one uncle.
Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
