Melissa Marie Rhea, 29, of Freeport, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born September 28, 1984 in Freeport she was the daughter of Larry and Connie (O'Neill) Rhea.
Melissa was a local CNA and was presently working for Wendy's.
Surviving are her mother, Connie Rhea of Freeport; her father, Larry (Janice)Rhea of Freeport; her grandmother, Harriet O'Neill of Freeport; her sister, Amy (Jeff) Doescher of Rock City; two nieces, Jordan and Emily Doescher; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins including, Nate, Sarah, and Zach; and the Saladino family.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather; and her aunt, Karen.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary.
Private, family only, services will be held.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
