Melvin Neal Runkle, age 77, of Palmer, AK passed away on November 9, 2023.  He was born in Galena, IL to Walter and Esther Runkle.  He is survived by six sons, Ken (Kirsten), Don, Tom, Jon (Joette), Lee (Charlotte) and Roy.  Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  One of thirteen children with seven surviving siblings, Alberta, Marilyn, Mildred, Richard (Robin), Alvin (Sandra), Marlene, and Dale (MariAnn).  Preceding in passing Edwin, Bernita, Wayne, Eldon and Ronald.

He moved to Alaska, June 2005.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with family and friends.  Melvin will be missed by many both here and in the lower 48.
