Michael Ralph Brinkmeier, 57, of Freeport, was called home by the Angels on June 17, 2014 at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Born February 3, 1957 in Savanna, Illinois he was the son of Dean and Donna (Cox) Brinkmeier.
Michael was a graduate of Stockton High School.
Michael worked for Mytec, Vintners and Swiss Colony Inn.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He was a member of Crossroads Community Church.
Surviving are his mother, Donna Borchers of Freeport; his father, Dean Brinkmeier of Detroit, Michigan; one son, Erich Brinkmeier of Freeport; his fiancée Colleen Artz of Freeport; his sister, Janet (Keith) Kiefer of Rockford; his brothers, Jeff (Sue) Brinkmeier of San Antonio, Texas, Steve (Margo) Brinkmeier of Stillman Valley, Illinois and Terry Brinkmeier of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Norman Borchers and one sister, Loretta Saunders.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Crossroads Community Church.
Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Crossroads Community Church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
