Michael Frautschy, 61, of Madison, Wisconsin, formerly of Freeport, Illinois, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Born February 11, 1954, in Freeport, he was the son of Marshall G. and Lorraine (Stukenberg) Frautschy.
He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, with a Bachelors in Accountancy, starting his post college career with Elco Industries in Rockford, Illinois followed by many years with Sundstrand Corporation, also of Rockford. He then worked/volunteered for several non-profit organizations in Madison, Wisconsin. Michael was an avid animal lover and volunteered at Dane County's Wildlife society as well at the Heartland Farm Sanctuary. He was very supportive of the University of Wisconsin's men's and women's athletic programs and he really enjoyed volunteering at WORT radio station in Madison. He appreciated a wide variety of music genres. Mike was easy going, very caring, and of high integrity.
Surviving are his mother, Lorraine of Freeport, his brother Tom (Jeanie) of Nashville Tennessee, his nieces Dawn (Fletcher) Garner of Raleigh, NC, Brooke Frautschy of Franklin, Tennessee and Brandy (Tony) Estness and his great nephew, Jackson of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father. Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no funeral service. A memorial has been established in Friends Forever Humane Society, 966 W. Rudy Road, Freeport, Illinois, 61032. Please leave a message in Michael's guestbook at www.walkermortuary.com
