Michael L. Plum, 61, of Freeport passed away Tuesday September 10th at Amberwood Care Center in Rockford after an extended illness.  He was born March 8, 1963 in Freeport, the son of Robert A. Plum and Margaret R. (Rinderman) Plum.  He was the youngest of 7 children.

Michael attended Freeport High School.  He enjoyed fixing things, especially small engines.  He also enjoyed fishing, demo derbies and was a diehard Steelers fan.  He worked many jobs, including a chef and truck driver.

He is survived by his children, Andrew G. Plum and Miranda J. Reynolds and 4 grandchildren, his siblings, Eugene Plum (Jeanne), Patricia Dietmeier (Dennis) both of Ridott, Marsha Plum (Argie Coonts) of Lanark and sister-in-law Cindy Plum.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert P. (Smokey) Plum and John A. Plum, sister Deborahlynn Smith and brother-in-law Earl Moote.
