Freeport-Michael C. Smith, 54, of Freeport, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at his home.
Born August 10, 1952 in Freeport he was the son of Maurice and Arlith (Siemens) Smith. He married Marie Fuchs March 18, 1978 in Orangeville.
He worked at Newell Rubbermaid for 29 years.
He was a member of Zion Church.
Surviving is his wife, Marie of Freeport; his mother, Arlith of Freeport; 1 son, Scott Joseph Smith of South Bend, Indiana; 3 sisters, Linda (Mervin) Mader of McConnell, Cheryl Biehl and Debra Smith both of Freeport; 2 brothers, Jeff (Tammie) Smith of Cortland and Steve Smith of Freeport; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral service will be Friday 9:30 a.m. at Zion Church, 4292 W. Stephenson St. Road in Freeport with Reverend John Brandner officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
