Freeport-Mildred L. Fox
On a cloudy Wednesday afternoon, December 17, the sun briefly broke through the clouds and shown down on Mildred Fox through her window. At that point she left her worn out earthly body to live again with her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Mildred Louise Fox, 84 was born on December 28, 1918 in Forreston, the only child of Henry and Louise (Griffith) Fox. Mildred was a mother's helper in the Shannon area for many years.
After her father retired from his farm on West Pearl City Rd. in 1960, she cared for him at their home on Oak Ave in Freeport until he died at the age of 102. Mildred had a quick wit and an incredible memory for names. She enjoyed keeping track of her finances until just before her death. Her favorite companion over the years was her dog, Pepper.
Friends, nieces, and nephews will miss Mildred's unique personality.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Chapel of Peace in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Freeport Area Church Cooperative.
