Mildred K. Jones, 87, of Freeport, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born April 10, 1920 in Savanna she was the daughter of John and Florence (Bundy) Linker. She married Thomas H. Jones December 3, 1939 and he died May 25, 2002.
She was a graduate of Chadwick High School.
Mildred and her husband were long time Carroll County farmers. After farming they managed a rural paper route for several years.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves fan.
Surviving is her son, Marvin (Kathy) Jones of Cuba City, Wisconsin; her grandson, Daniel (Carrie) Jones of Platteville, Wisconsin; her brother, Wayne (Mina) Linker of Chadwick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Wilbur Linker.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Visitation will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Walkers.
A memorial has been established in her name.
