Monica Lee Kehl, Cedarville, Il, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at FHN Hospital, at the age of 70. She was born January 21, 1955 in Dubuque, IA, to Louis (Louie) Madigan and Roberta (Bobbie) Madigan. Monica married James Kehl, September 21, 2002, in Massbach, IL.
Monica graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1973. After graduation she was employed at Honeywell/Micro Switch, for 43 years retiring in 2016, but became fully retired after 4 years of employment at Menards.
She enjoyed NASCAR, her favorite driver being Jeff Gordon, Car 24. Her hobbies included bowling, having the honor of being inducted into the Freeport Women's Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1993, as well as flower gardening, "flower shopping" and motorcycle trips with her husband, Jim. She also enjoyed being a spectator at her grandchildren's sporting events. She never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune, and also enjoyed weekly Friday night outings with close friends.
Monica is survived by her husband, Jim, Stepson, Jared (Pons) Kehl, and their children Jayden and Elyssa. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Randy (Lillie) Madigan, Deb Srickel, Tonya (Rob Hess) Cairo, Tammy Madigan, Terry Madigan, Tracy (Travis) Shovar, as well as her Aunts and Uncles: Nancy Papin, Margaret Ferrel, Kat Madigan, Mark Madigan, Beth Madigan, Dennis Madigan, Sue Nazaretian, and most importantly her treasured Brittanys, Stella and Claire. She is also survived by Sisters-in-Law, Deni (Tim) Hotek, Deb (Gene) Brinkmeier and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Madigan, father Louis Madigan, brother Michael Madigan, grandparents, Joseph and Marie Madigan, Ralph and Gladys Clough; Aunts and Uncles, Jack Papin, Bob and Patty Fosdick, Janaan and Robert Arand, David Madigan, Patrick Madigan and Robert (Cheri) Madigan, as well as her Father-in-Law, James Kehl Sr, Mother-in-Law, LaDonna Koppein and Nephew, Spencer Hotek.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a private family service at Chapel Hill Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the Eagles Club from 1-4pm. A memorial has been established in her name.
