Nadine M. Cable, 86, of Freeport, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her home.
Born January 24, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Walter L. and Chloe (Trotter) Matthews. She married John Cable May 6, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and he died April 24, 2009.
Nadine was an administrative assistant for WCEE Channel 23 and then went on to pioneer Cable TV in the Rockford area.
She was an active member of First Free Methodist Church where she held many positions in the church and was a volunteer for the Voices program, and was a Polling Precinct Judge.
Surviving are her son, Steven Cable of Bolingbrook; three daughters, Janette (Harry) Benoit of Freeport, Jennifer (John) Meiborg of Green Lake, Wisconsin and Julie Woehler of Rockford; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday December 29, 2014 at First Free Methodist Church with Reverend Don Jamerson officiating. Entombment will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2014 11 a.m. until time of service at First Free Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for First Free Methodist Church.
