Nancy J. Kauffman, 65, of Davis died Sunday January 1, 2012 at the Monroe Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Monroe after a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 12, 1946 in Joliet, IL she was the daughter of Chester and Verna (Krapf) Steinberg. On September 1, 1968 she and Tom Kauffman were united in marriage in Peotone, IL. Nancy was an active member of Durand United Methodist Church participating in various church organizations. She enjoyed boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy was a loving and supportive friend with a strong faith that was encouraging to many. Surviving are her husband Tom of Davis, three children Kim (Brad Kluesner) Menke of Roscoe, Kalli (Doug) Loversky of Oxnard, CA, Britton (Katie) Kauffman of Davis; former son-in-law Mike Menke of Roscoe; 6 grandchildren Dani and Christian Loversky, Ellyn and Carson Menke, Tyler and Hannah Kauffman; two brothers Ron Steinberg of FL, Rick Steinberg of OH; sister-in-law Diane Steinberg of MO; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother Dale Steinberg.
