Freeport-Nancy L. Martin, 71, of Freeport, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born June 2, 1934 in Freeport she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Heckersmiller) Gerloff. She married Orville Martin February 9, 1952 in Dubuque, IA and he died February 22, 2005. She worked at Newell, Micro Switch and Structo. Surviving is her son, Donald (Marcia) Martin of Freeport; one daughter Judy (Burnham) Martin of Lena; one sister, Betty Huenefeld of Adeline; four brothers, Ed (Josephine) Gerloff, Gerald (Cora) Gerloff, and Kenneth Gerloff all of Freeport, and William Gerloff of Nebraska; 4 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 26, 2005 at Walker Mortuary. A gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Mortuary. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name.
