Freeport – Naomi M. Krueger, 91 of Freeport passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 7, 2024. Born December 12, 1932 in Dakota, Illinois to the late Walter and Anna Mae (Shellenberger) Adams. Naomi was the youngest of 5 children. She attended Dakota and Orangeville HS graduating from Orangeville in 1950. She worked at Burgess Battery following High School and met her future husband there, Ronald Krueger. They were married June 21, 1952 and together they built a life and raised a family. Ronald passed on August 30, 2007.
Naomi was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Freeport where she served in the Fidelis Circle and on the altar guild. After raising her 2 children, she worked for the Freeport School district for 23 years helping in the cafeteria. Naomi enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. Working outdoors, vacationing, bus trips with family and friends, dancing to country music with her husband and family gatherings brought her great joy. She loved craft shows and she was known for her good sense of humor. Naomi enjoyed bowling and cooking for her family. Her faith in the Lord brought her through many trials. She cherished her time with her 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Naomi is survived by her daughter, Pam Crase of Freeport; sister Florence Meinert, Sister-in-law Corrine (Richard) Carey, daughter-in-law Jo Ellen Krueger. Grandchildren Kimberly (James) Waymack II, Katie (Jason) Newcomb, Andrea Crase, Sarah (Eric) Fender. Great grandchildren Madeline and James IV Waymack, Leah and Paige Newcomb, Brennan, Carsen and Avery Fender.
She is predeceased by Sisters Ruth Schrader, Flo Stamm and brother John Adams, mother Anna Mae Solace and father Walter Adams, in-laws Edwin and Elda Krueger son Wayne B Krueger deceased October 26, 2009, great grandsons James III and Jacob Waymack.
There will be a casual dress visitation held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Walker Mortuary beginning at 12 noon. Her service will immediately follow at 1:30 also at Walker Mortuary. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
