Neva M. Riem, 94, of Dakota, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born May 12, 1918 in Dakota she was the daughter of Myles and Gladys (Hunsicker) Mitchell. She married Clarence "Hank" Riem April 22, 1944 and he died September 9, 1982.
Neva was a 1934 graduate of Dakota High School. Earlier in her life she worked for the Burgess Battery Company.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dakota.
Surviving is her daughter, Trudi Sperlow of Titusville, Florida; her son, Jonathan (Rhonda) Riem of Freeport; her grandchildren, Chrisy Mathes of Titusville, Florida, Dawn (David) Hart of Port St. John, Florida, Virginia Buss of Rockford, and Christopher (Nancy) Riem of Dakota; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Leo Mitchell.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be a memorial service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota. There will be a gathering for friends and family Saturday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home.
Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Dakota Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
