Nicole R. Walton, age 48 of The Colony, TX, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at her mother's home in Forreston, IL. She was born October 12, 1977; the daughter of Richard and Rose (Last) Walton. She was formerly married to Lupe Hernandez, father of Alex and Nina.

Nicole was an automotive technician and worked at several automotive companies throughout the years. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing, crocheting, and fitness. She also had a passion for cars. Most of all, she adored her children. Nicole was a strong-willed, independent, and caring person.

She is survived by her mother, Rose (Joe Stebbins) Walton; father, Richard Walton; children, Jesse James, Shelby Walton, Alex Hernandez, and Nina Hernandez; two grandchildren; and sisters, Tina Walton and Tabitha Wubbena. She was preceded in death by her significant other, Patrick Boone.

A celebration of life will be held on June 27, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Silver Creek Museum in Freeport, IL. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Condolences may be shared with her family at www.walkermortuary.com.
