Nina Shpik, 89 of Rock City passed away at the Monroe Hospice Home in Monroe, WI on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. She was born in Ukraine on January 1, 1932 to the late Simon and Evdokia (Vnukova) Homula. She married Anatoli Shpik on June 21, 1982 who passed away in 1985.
She was very involved in the church sisterhood and the choir of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Church. She also adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Olga (Vitaly) Dalmatov, of Inverness, IL, Tamara (Paul) Klinger of Spokane, WA, Peter (Julianna) Shpik of Knoxville, TN, and Kathy (Terry) Schoonhoven of Rock City. She is also survived by her brother, George (Vera) Homula of Chicago. Her legacy also includes seven grandchildren, Tanner (Kristina) Schoonhoven of Winnebago, Sierra Schoonhoven of Dakota, Nicholas Klinger, Adam Klinger, Jason Shpik, Cynthia Shpik, and Alexandra Shpik.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Michael Shpik.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home with a Panihida Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir's Church in Rock City. The family requests that all participants in the visitation and service wear a mask for Covid-19 precautions.
